Anne Epstein Jeffres, Graduate Gemologist (GIA), Certified Senior Member (NAJA)

Picture
Anne has been involved in the jewelry business for most of her life, beginning in her parents' jewelry store in New York, which they opened when she was one year old.  After graduating from Emory University, she went on to earn her Graduate Gemologist (G.G.) degree in residence from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).  She immediately knew she wanted to pursue a career as an independent jewelry appraiser.  Living in the Chicago area at that time, she sought out the highest credentialed independent appraiser to work for and learn from.  During her tenure there, she successfully completed the Master Gemologist Appraiser (M.G.A.) Course which was the highest designation offered by the American Society of Appraisers.  (Since she is not a current member of A.S.A., the designation cannot be used, but the knowledge can.)  After settling in the Atlanta area in 1995, Anne opened Metropolitan Jewelry Appraisal Service, providing independent jewelry appraisals.  She applied for membership in the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (N.A.J.A.), the premier jewelry-only appraisal organization, and soon passed the requirements and testing to become a Certified Senior Member (C.S.M.).  Anne continually strives to keep updated in the ever-changing fields of gemology and appraisal methodology, constantly learning and working on her continuing education.  She is a past president and past vice president of the Georgia Chapter of the G.I.A. Alumni Association, which focuses on continuing education.

Please call, email or text to discuss your specific appraisal needs and schedule a confidential appointment at her office in downtown Marietta.  Anne's gemological laboratory is completely portable and she can travel to your location if necessary.  All work is done while you watch, and your jewelry pieces never have to leave your possession.  A thorough appraisal report document with a detailed description and multiple photographs of each item is provided.
